M9 Bayonet Fade Guide

The M9 Bayonet Comes in 21 different patterns named after how many percent of the knife are faded. The main ones are 80%, 85%, 90%, 95% and 100%.

80% being the lowest and thus the worst pattern while 100% is the best and most valuable pattern.

There are two patterns you should look out for. These are 98% and 99% or Fake Full Fade as they are called. This is because it is very hard to see the difference between a real Full Fade (100%) and a Fake Full Fade.

To see if a Full Fade is real or not – check the edge – and make sure the purple goes all the way up to the hole

History

M9 Bayonet Fade was added to the game on 14 August 2013 alongside “The Arms Race” update, or the skin update as it also is called.

It can only be opened in 11 cases. These are Operation Bravo Case, CS:GO Weapon Case, Revolver Case, Operation Vanguard Case, Weapon Case, Operation Phoenix Weapon Case, CS:GO Weapon Case 2, eSports 2013 Winter Case, eSports 2014 Summer Case, Winter Offensive Weapon Case, CS:GO Weapon Case 3 and, eSports 2013 Case.

The M9 Bayonet Fade is considered one of the original knives and is thus often more desirable for collectors.

Pattern Details

The Knives blade is chromed and coated with transparent paint, this allows the colors to interact with the lights and creates a nice gradient.

The pattern has three main colors of purple, pink, and yellow with some unpainted parts on some patterns which appear grey.

This all appears in different degrees depending on what pattern index the knife has, the more of the blade is faded the more its worth.

The handle of the knife is always uncolored and so is most of the guard.

Except for the ring on the side of the teeth which will become yellow if the knife is a very high fade percentage.

Floats impact

The float values on M9 Bayonet Fade go between 0.00 to 0.08. This makes it only available in factory new or minimal wear

On higher floats scratches appear along the edge of the knife as well as around the hole on the blade.

The scratches are very visible on minimal wear skins and bad float factory new ones.

So if you are planning on acquiring an M9 Bayonet Fade make sure the float is decent.
